NOT only does adolescence involve changes in the endocrine function that lie at the base of much of the stormy moodiness of this period, but in addition the total body image as visualised by the youth concerned is also changing. Very often the new image is anything but complimentary. A survey by Frazier and Lisonbee1 showed that adolescent girls are very concerned about their weight.
